NEWS - SUBICWATER RECEIVES 3 ISO CERTIFICATIONS
After
successfully acquiring the International Organization for Standardization
(ISO 9000) certification in 2004, Subicwater, in its commitment to excel
more in delivering quality water and services to its valued customers aimed
and hurdled for the certification of its Integrated Management System (IMS).
IMS
is an integration of ISO 9001(Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment) and OHSAS
18001 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards into one system that covers
all the business processes of Subicwater. This ensures that safety, quality,
environmental and business risks are managed and implemented right across
the company’s present system. It provides a stable foundation on which
to build a more effective management system, creates an effective internal
mechanism to improve business performance, and satisfies to a high degree
of consistency all stakeholders of the company ( employees, management, customers,
suppliers, government, regulators, etc.).
After
complying and meeting all the requirements of these international standards
covering the scope of water production, treatment and distribution with
design of pipelines, Subicwater is now certified to ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004
and OHSAS 18001:1999. The certification audit was held last December 4-6,
2006 by TUV-SUD Phils., a leading multinational certifying body operating
in the Philippines and a subsidiary of TUV Suddeutschland Group, the largest
TUV Group in Germany.
The certification was formally received by officials of Subicwater on December
22, 2006 in the presence of its Board of Directors and the members of the
Subic Bay Water Regulatory Board.

“Working
to be certified under these 3 ISO standards was not an easy task”, says
Ms. Canlas. “To be able to provide quality water and services is to
have “error-free” systems, processes and procedures. Management
decided to work for the three certifications under an integrated approach
as these are very closely related. Our IMS policy contains our commitment
to continual improvement, to exceeding our customers’ expectation, to
protecting our environment, to complying with quality standards and legal
requirements, and to creating a healthy and safe working environment for our
associates. This policy provides the framework for the formulation of our
objectives, targets and programs to achieve our vision to excel”, she
further stressed. Once again, Subicwater had shown its commitment to provide
quality water & services to its customers.
