April 22 is known throughout the world as EARTH DAY. Organizations and people all over the world celebrate in their own different ways to say “thank you” to our mother earth for giving us life and continuous nurture by providing our basic needs – air, water, earth and all the natural resources. It is also but timely that we give something back to nature.

In Subic Bay, the Ecology Center in coordination with the Hug Mother Earth Council has organized a “Hug Subic Bay Event” in celebration of Earth Day 2004 which was held last April 24. Subicwater along with their families, local students from Olongapo City, SBMA Departments and Locators participated the said event.

The “Hug Subic Bay” event was conceptualized as an awareness campaign for the protection and preservation of our environment and natural resources and to seek long term solutions in addressing pollution-related problems towards sustainable development.
