MR. MARIANO R. MUSNGI - FREEPORT'S ONE OF THE BEST

Mariano R. Musngi, as Head of the Technical Services Division, Distribution Network Management Department, handles the operation and maintenance of the distribution system both in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone and in Olongapo City.

He is the one in-charge of ensuring the provision of uninterrupted water supply to all locators and residents at the secured area and in Olongapo City. Furthermore, he is also a key person on the maintenance and safe operation of the sewerage system in the Freeport area.

Being a former Naval base employee, and a pioneer in volunteering job during the first years of SBMA’s operation, Mr. Musngi or Mang Mar to all those he is familiar with, has spent his entire career manning the water distribution system specially in the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Mang Mar can also be considered as an institution on his job. As a truly committed worker, he never dilly-dallied on the performance of his work. He can easily be called back whenever emergency water interruptions or service breakdowns happen anytime of the day. He never complained even if this meant working on wee hours of the night or on weekends, or holidays. Mang Mar attends to his work almost 24/7 just to ensure that no untoward incident on water and sewerage system happens.

Whenever there is a problem in the system, Mang Mar always has a ready solution. He knows the system by heart, maybe even if he is fast asleep. This has enabled the company to reduce its losses due to prolonged water interruptions and has contributed to a positive image of the company to its customers.

Also, Mang Mar has always shared his technical expertise to various locators in the Freeport seeking for advice on the existing water and sewerage system to complement their infrastructure plans and projects. Mang Mar has gained the respect of the local community who looked up to him for such advice.

Subicwater, Mang Mar is also a committed partner of SBMA in its quest to preserve the Subic Bay. He manifests this by regularly participating in SBMA’s River Clean-up projects not only by himself, but most of the time with his little kid as well.

With these qualities, Subicwater is indeed proud that Mr. Mariano R. Musngi is one of the 2006 Ten Most Outstanding Freeport Workers.
