PROJECTS

Long-Term Projects

Long-term projects in Subicwater's Development Plan are expected to solve the problems of water scarcity, as well as protect the environment.

These involve the development of new water sources and the contruction of waste water treatment facilities in Olongapo City and the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

A new water source is to be developed at the Dinalupihan well field in Dinalupihan, Bataan. The initial development will be undertaken by SBMA with the assistance of some international funding institutions. Once constructed, Subicwater will lease the facilities from SBMA and take on the operation and maintenance responsibility for the well field and associated pipeline from Dinalupihan to the Freeport Area.

Also under Subicwater's long-term program is the contruction of a series of wastewater treatment facilities to complement eight compact treatment plants and septic tanks at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Proposed sewage treatment facilities include: the Central Sewage Treatment, to serve Subic's central Area and the Taiwanese Industrial Park; the Boton/Cubi sewage treatment plant; and the Olongapo City sewage treatment plant which will incorporate series of interceptor sewers and sewer mains to provide the necessary collection system.
