The first phase of the multi-million project that seeks to improve and protect the marine environment in the Freeport and Olongapo City has already been completed. The project, which is dubbed as “Subicwater’s 2020 Sewerage Master Plan,” aims to provide a blueprint of priority programs for effective waste water management within our service area.

The study considers the growth and planned development within our service area coupled with the anticipated regulatory requirements on the Clean Water Act.

Once implemented, the strategic actions will arrest the deteriorating water quality of the Subic Bay and Olongapo Bay particularly the pollution ‘hot spots’ or areas that are highly susceptible to pollution. It will also address both public health and environmental protection issues whilst ensuring quality yet affordable service to our customers.

Schema Konsult, Inc. in association with Orient Integrated Development Consultants, Inc. completed this study. Detailed engineering of identified priority infrastructure, costing and investigation of funding availability as well as the capability and willingness of customers to pay will soon commence upon approval of the study’s 2nd phase.
